In fact, I seldom see a first-run movie.
Only if I am interested in the specific, I will be willing to
see them in the second run. Few movies can encourage me to see them in a
first-run theater. The number of movies I've ever seen in the first-run theater might count with 10 fingers.
Far from loving art movie, though , I went to Golden Horse Film Festival for
2 Japanese movies. One was Suite Dreams. The other was Always -Sunset on The Third Street--- the movie I want to share in this article.
Why I chose these 2 films? Frankly speaking, I picked up them just because their cast.^^ Especially for Always -Sunset on The Third Street, My favorite actor---Shinichi TsuTsumi played an significant and interesting character in the movie. He played a boss who owned a tiny automobile repairing shop.
Although Japan was beaten in World War II so that material life was not so good as that of today, everyone in the small corner of Tokyo still looked on the bright side of life. The smiles on their faces are so contented with what they'd already had that can relieve audience's negative feeling and save someone in despair. Not only enjoying this movie, I am also starting to ponder on why we live an abundant life now but in an unhappy mood. Maybe people in the movie believed deeply that they could improve their life step by step and difficulties would be ended by everyone's resolution. Not many people who have encountered hardships sand misfortunes can be so optimistic like the characters in this film. It is convinced that Japan can recover from the war so fast and become several dominated countries again.
When Suzuki’s family bought the first TV of the community, the house was almost exploded by the people who merely want to see a small and black-white TV.
When a girl working in Suzuki’s factory got sour puffy, she ate them just because she'd grew up in the country and not seen what the snack eas before.
Many scenes make me laugh and remind me that maybe we get used to the easy life which are fruits of the elder generations' hard working and perseverance.
